Information Technology Careers, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Network, Unified Telecommunications and Security Operations Division supports a cutting edge data network across the state of Pennsylvania. This position is part of a team of technicians that provides proactive monitoring of network hardware and data circuits.

The Commonwealth’s Network, Unified Telecommunications and Security Operations Division, employs a variety of network services across the state. As one of our technicians, you will be working with some of the latest networking technologies that include Cisco, Cradle Point, Silver Peak,HP, and Solar Winds.

This position is responsible for proactive monitoring of Commonwealth owned network equipment and vendor provided circuits across the state of Pennsylvania. The incumbent will provide first level troubleshooting of network problems and work with providers, vendors and Commonwealth network engineers to resolve them. In addition, the incumbent will troubleshoot network outages, performance issues and hardware failures, and assist in higher level network and hardware issues.

 

Minimum Qualification Required:

  • One year of experience as a Network Specialist 1; or
  • Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance.

The selected candidate for this position must undergo a fingerprint-based records check to be in compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

))This is a professional Accountant 1 position within the Financial Department involving the application of accounting and bookkeeping practices and functions with a budget of approximately $15,000,000.  Administrative Officer provides guidance as needed regarding accounting standards and procedures.  Responsible for analyzing financial transactions and prepares documented financial statements and reports to account for funds and to analyze and project financial data. Responsible for performing a variety of professional accounting work.  Supervises and monitors biweekly payroll.  Performs payroll activities as needed with Fiscal Technician or in the absence of Fiscal Technician.  Review and process bi-weekly payroll to include verifying payroll changes, employer/employee deductions, reviewing cost allocations, preparing and submitting direct deposit transfer files, submitting files to third party tax companies, benefits payment processing, and preparing tax reconciliations monthly and quarterly.  Supervises posting of accounting data to general ledger accounts from accounting records and performs these activities as needed.  Takes trial balances and prepares financial reports. AP duties include:  Invoicing, reviews invoices, reconciles credit card payments, codes and posts electronic invoice payments, participates in maintenance of vendor profiles, and performs reporting.  AR duties include:  invoices, collects payments, makes bank deposits, and performs reconciliation and month end duties.  General Ledger duties include:  journal entries, reconciliation of expenses and entries, asset, liability, revenue and expense accounts, and banking activities.  Under the guidance of the Administrative Officer, supervises the maintenance of expenditure and budgetary control accounts and prepares reports related to the status of accounts.  Conducts standard internal audits and participates in the Agency’s annual required auditing activities.  Prepare Agency/State required reporting for review by the Administrative Officer and other reporting as assigned.  May supervise clerical and clerical accounting staff.  Complete employee evaluations, interview, select, train, coach, mentor, conduct progress reviews, and review staff paperwork to include timesheets, expense reports, etc.  Perform other related duties as assigned.

DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis is a training position to learn the process of providing care management, to determine program eligibility, and prescribe appropriate services to meet client’s in-home needs. Assignments are performed under the direct supervision of Aging Care Management Supervisor. An employee in this class participates in formal and informal training sessions which provide the methods, procedures, rules, and regulations that govern the program and the internal operations of the agency. The employee is provided with an increasingly more difficult series of work assignments during their employment in this class.  As knowledge and skills are acquired, the difficulty of assignments increase and more latitude in judgment and decision making is permitted.  Training is provided through individual and group conferences, reading/evaluating records and reports, assignment of professional readings, and attendance/participation in trainings, (classes, conferences and webinars).
