Location :EV-APF-W2SN04 US ARMY ENGINEER DISTRICT, ALASKA
Salary : $74,317 – $115,803 per year
Job Type: Full Time
- This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-11 grade level. At the full performance, GS-12, the incumbent will:
- Advise on local adoption of policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of the district’s financial management program.
- Review financial records and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and judicial requirements.
- Review, evaluate, and recommend improvements for the District accounting procedures, reports, and operational areas.
- Provide the Finance and Accounting Officer and other district staff elements with professional managerial accounting advice and guidance.
Condition of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Financial Management Level 2 certification within 24 months of employment.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
