Location :EV-APF-W2SN04 US ARMY ENGINEER DISTRICT, ALASKA
Salary : $74,317 – $115,803 per year
Job Type: Full Time
Responsibilities:
- This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-11 grade level. At the full performance, GS-12, the incumbent will:
- Advise on local adoption of policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of the district’s financial management program.
- Review financial records and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and judicial requirements.
- Review, evaluate, and recommend improvements for the District accounting procedures, reports, and operational areas.
- Provide the Finance and Accounting Officer and other district staff elements with professional managerial accounting advice and guidance.
Condition of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Financial Management Level 2 certification within 24 months of employment.
Education:
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
Qualification:
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.
Basic Requirement: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
