About Job

Plans, coordinates and supervises all aspects of drilling and testing procedures associated with drilling and work over operations and monitors execution of approved programmes and initiates necessary changes to optimize the operational time and cost. •    Bachelor Degree in Petroleum, Mining or other relevant disciplines.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

•    Plans and prepares Drilling and/or Work over programmes and testing procedures for assigned wells in accordance with the well objectives, technical requirements and engineering standards. Works closely with the Reservoir Development teams in prognosis creation and optimisation.
•    Ensures the equipment and services are available and prepared for planned wells to be drilled.
•    Monitors and analyses the work progress during drilling, well completions and work overs. Provide necessary instructions, advice and measures to be taken by the Drilling Supervisor to resolve problems and avoid delays in work schedule and to ensure that the requirements and the well objectives are achieved.
•    Monitors well execution and delivery performance against agreed KPIs and business plan. Provides analysis and understanding of differences, and makes recommendation to address them.
•    Acts as a focal point between Rig-site and Main office for all operational and field based issues. Maintains good communication with Drilling Supervisor to ensure delivery of excellence in HSE and programme execution.
•    Supervises the moving of rigs schedule on and off well locations.  Includes liaising with contractor to ensure maximum safety and accurate positioning of rig on new location.
•    Prepares Final Well Reports and ensure AAR (After Action Review) are completed for each well.
•    Check budget and Drilling & Work over Schedule and ensures that enough funds area available for the completion of each well.
•    Verifies well expenditure proposals and monitors variance from plans. Provides budget estimates for specific drilling operations as required and raises them to supervisor for review and approval.
•    Prepares studies and reviews which will assist in solving current operational problems, improves current operational procedures and delivers excellence in performance delivery
•    Participates in designing and/or confirming designs and specifications of drilling and associated equipment.

Job Purpose:

In collaboration with key Group stakeholders, oversee effective implementation Group Asset integrity & Process Safety (AIPS) governance and business operations compliance with ADNOC AIPS requirements and applicable legal legislations as well as provide assessment of Group integrity AIPS performance with in-house AIPS policies, strategies, and standards requirements as a contributory factor to the Management of Major Accident Hazards. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

Minimum Qualification

Graduate and / or postgraduate with degree in a related engineering discipline or other related technical disciplines (e.g., risk management) from recognized universities.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in risk management, AIPS management and /or audit experience with a strong focus on risks and AIPS management controls.
Demonstrated track record in contributing and leading strategic AIPS initiatives.
Demonstrated track record at individual contribution in related technical roles.
Strong knowledge of ADNOC and international AIPS standards and frameworks.

Generate ideas and contribute to initiatives to support continuous improvement of AI processes and ways of working to maximize cost reduction and operational effectiveness.
Stay abreast of AIPS regulatory and legal developments, interpret, and provide advice across the various departments of the organization.
Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding new or emerging global AIS compliance issues and trends.
Proactively identify potential and existing risk compliance issues and address them appropriately.
Undertake research work in the compliance matters related to AIPS framework and new development.

Participate in the technical vetting of AIPS technical authorities and technical staff (e.g., interview panel, appointment panel, assessments, etc.).

Act as a technical authority for AIPS as assigned in line with ADNOC Technical Authority Framework.
Facilitate respective AIPS group communities of practice and coordinate their activities in line with ADNOC guidelines on the subject.
Review relevant Group AIPS business plan requirements and where necessary identify areas for optimization.
As assigned, participate as a member is governance forums relating to AIPS.
As assigned, participate / lead any related management review / assessment (e.g., Incident Investigation, Independent Reviews, etc.).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of the Key performance Indicators for the drilling activities in line with the drilling objectives and strategies
  • Establish performance monitoring program to close monitoring the Drilling performance to address the areas of concern
  • Lead initiatives to identify areas of improvement aim at improving the drilling performance to deliver the business mandate
  • Manage the development and management of the Drilling performance contract and ensure the full alignment with the UDR function performance contract to support the achievement of the Function performance contract.
  • Reviews biannually the Down hole equipment and X-Mas tree allocation and advises all the concerned personnel accordingly. Reviews all standard & nonstandard equipment’s full descriptions to ensure VAP’s are continuously updated.
  • Reviews the input and contents of Materials Requests (MR’s), Purchase Requests (PR’s), Contract Requests (CR’s) and Contract Validation Order’s (CVO’s) prior to routing for final approval.
  • Participates in reviewing and recommending amendments in the Drilling Operations reference Manual (DORM).

  • Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Team to achieve the Department objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Team in line with Department objectives.
